I don't think you've lost anything Stephen, it's just expressed in a different form. I love the light and the shadows are wonderful. The stone work is great too!

Thought I would have another go at this on watercolour paper. Lost some of the freshness of the pen and wash sketch but like how I could build up the washes and texture on the rag paper.
