'New' bridge, Rochdale.
This is the original medieval bridge across the river Roche, which runes through Rochdale centre. This and several other later bridges were covered over about a hundred years ago., making, I am told, the widest bridge in Europe. This has been part removed recently so we can again see the quite large river. It really has made a great improvement to the centre. When I took the photo this was painted from, there were several others snapping away.
About the Artist
Stephen Slater
I am a self taught amateur painter, I mostly paint landscapes in watercolour but I 'dabble' in other mediums from time to time. I really enjoy my art, especially painting outdoors when the weather allows.
