Many thanks everyone for your very encouraging comments. I think that working from the quick pen sketch, rather than my photograph, made the final painting fresher. It is tempting to copy all the detail that is in a photo, which can lead to overworking a painting.

I find the same Stephen, working from a sketch makes my attempts at working from a photo looser. Here you've got a lovely mix of washes too.
