I think you've managed this painting very well, Stephen, even if it's not your usual scene. The transition of washes and the balance of dark and light shapes are all very well done.

Many thanks Seok and Derek for your encouraging comments. I am always a bit impatient to get on with painting and I should have given more thought to the tones. Derek is right in that the shadows are much stronger in the reference photo, perhaps I will have another go.

I think you have tackled this quite complicated subject really well and your gentle palette has ensured that all the detail remains harmonious. Very nice indeed.

I painted this at the art group this evening. A bit out of my comfort zone, too much drawing involved! Good practice though.
