Teguise, Lanzarote

White buildings are hard, but I think your smooth and gentle treatment of them here has worked really well. How you have painted them is a little unusual and all the better for that in my book as it adds a different slant on how to depict these buildings. Lovely scene and very attractively done.

I agree with Thea about about your treatment of the walls. For what it's worth I usually stick to a smidgen of either cobalt blue or raw sienna - i pop a few dabs here and there on the well and then soften around the edges with a wet brush - this way you don't get a uniform colour (albeit it pale) across the wall which adds to the interest.

Many thanks Thea and Michael for your kind remarks. Thanks also Michael for the tip, I. must try that next time.

From a photo I took on a coach trip, aren't white buildings hard to paint?
