It's fine anyway Stephen, sometimes architectural stuff doesn't lend itself to being too loose.

Lovely balance Stephen and it's always good to do a more studied piece when we are in the mood

I agree with Alan and Dennis Stephen, not easy to be loose when painting buildings, however I have found the use of a matchstick to apply the ink in line and wash gives me more varied marks in my drawing.

Many thanks everyone for your thoughtful comments, I was going to use the old matchstick but I thought this lovely old building needed a more careful approach.

How about a contrasting piece on the same scene, loose and wild, but obviously bound by shapes? .... :-) (my attempt at a smiley)

A fine drawing of the buildings, Stephen. Lovely colours too.

Many thanks Gudrun, I will have a go!

Many thanks Mia, much appreciated.

Lovely painting Stephen. It has an element of Lowry about it.

Many thanks Peter, I wonder if the great man painted Chetham's?

Works very well, Stephen

Many thanks Maureen.

Very well done Stephen,

Painted this in line and wash at the art group this evening, from a photo I took earlier today. I intended painting this looser but got carried away with the drawing!
