This is really crunchy,'wet' snow Stephen. Very atmospheric too.

Hi Stephen i like this its got my favourite ingredient , atmosphere. Its also got an impressionistic feel to it very nice Stephen.

Funnily enough, I was going to comment on your snow before I read your description of the painting. The way that you've painted it is what I like about the painting. It looks as though it's been walked over, there's life in the garden and someone has been outside and walked through it. How it usually is in real life. Super painting!

Many thanks Jennifer, Dennis and Louise for your encouraging words. I'm glad that Louise feels the snow area looks ok, it was a bit boring, with no marks of shadows so I thought I would try to break it up a bit. By the way, I tried your idea of drawing thinks out using a rigger, I think it did help to loosen things a little.

Quick loose and effective - well done S

many thanks Dennis and Michael, must be due another lovely Leicestershire village scen soon?

A quick loose watercolour painted from the warmth of the dining room, looking through the patio doors. I avoided any detail in the building at the rear. I think I probably over did the shadows on the snow.
