Amazing difference - the true colours are definitely superior, there's a whole different feel to the scene.

You obviously know dog walkers - all in all weathers! Lovely scene and reminds me of all the walks I have had with my dogs in the snow.

P S I always photograph my work in natural light, but I do use a daylight lamp to shine extra light on them. The daylight bulbs don't have that yellow tinge that normal bulbs have. When I had my new studio built early last year, the electrician was brilliant and he knew of daylight bulb downlighters which I had installed in the ceiling of the room. The light for painting in the evening is really good - very nearly as good as daylight.

Many thanks for your comments, Marjorie and Thea.

Love the tones and washes Stephen

What a difference between the two, this one looks much better.

Many thanks Dennis and Fiona.

It's a different painting, love the greys and browns.

I like this it is so natural Stephen.

Many thanks Lesley and Carole. Much appreciated.

Beautifully painted, with great light and atmosphere, Stephen.

Many thanks Seok for your kind comments.

Just thought I would repost this one to show the difference in taking the photo in natural light rather than electric. This is far nearer the actual colour of the painting.

About the Artist
Stephen Slater

I am a self taught amateur painter, I mostly paint landscapes in watercolour but I 'dabble' in other mediums from time to time. I really enjoy my art, especially painting outdoors when the weather allows.
