Excellent tonal work Stephen

Great tones Stephen - yes I agree, Fiona's sketches do tend to inspire.

Lovely Sketch Stephen as I have e said I do like your sketches very much

Many thanks everyone for your much appreciated comments.

Fiona uses a 6B, not much difference, have you tried carbon pencils?, they come in the same grades and are even darker - generally my first choice. Good tonal sketch anyway Stephen.

Thanks Alan, not tried carbon pencils, did have a solid graphite pencil with a plastic cover once, which gave a very dark line, have also tried charcoal pencils which were good also.

This is lovely Stephen, it’s amazing how you can get engrossed in a simple pencil sketch....I’m a convert!

Thanks Fiona, I used to do a lot of these some years ago, the difficult bit is translating these into a painting I find. As you say they are fun to do.

Many thanks once again Gudrun,

After looking at Fiona's recent sketches, I Thought I Would have a go. I did this with a 5B pencil, trying to match the tones that I saw..
