Where are the punters? That tower is growing through the pub? Surely not. Apart from that I like the drawing and the colours Stephen.

Yes it does look as though the Beetham tower is growing out of the pub roof Derek but it's probably about a quarter of a mile away! There were a few punters sat in the beer garden but I cunningly (ok accidentally) started the roof too far down the page. The strange tent like thing is presumably to keep the old smokers dry in the well known Manchester summer weather. I went into a cafe for some soup after my efforts, feeling a little chilly!

Happy times my cousin was the landlord here years ago

Thanks Cliff, this place must have many interesting tales to tell!

Went to the Museum of Science and Technology in Manchester today and could not resist sketching this nearby old pub. That Beetham Tower seems to sneak in everywhere!

I am a self taught amateur painter, I mostly paint landscapes in watercolour but I 'dabble' in other mediums from time to time. I really enjoy my art, especially painting outdoors when the weather allows.
