Like Marjorie I really like the green incoporated in the trunk Stephen, gives it the look of roundness....and some lovely wet in wet in the background trees.

Great sketch and like the others I like the treatment of the tree trunk really good and a good strong tree shadow, love the wet into wet background tree line, smashing work.

Many thanks for your thoughtful comments Michael, I think you are right with the landscape format, it also looks good in a square format. It is useful to play around with the formats of a picture, must try it more often.
