It's Lovely Stephen, love the colours :)

I like the free pen work Stephen feeling of spontaneity, also like the muted colours and the shadows giving form to the land, nice one.

I have some myself Stephen, the brush is particularly useful, you've done a great job here with them, great shadows and that all important front shadow sets the scene.

I love the warm feeling to this scene.

Great to try something new Stephen, works well.

Gosh everyone's up and posting early this morning! I'm pleasantly surprised with the response to my little quick sketch. Just shows that often the simplest of pieces work best.

Love your quick sketches Stephen....new pens beautifully handled! What do you think to them?

Many thanks Fiona for your encouragement. I think I prefer the sepia colour for landscape drawings as they are not as intrusive as the black. I think Pitt are one of the best drawing pens I have seen and the ink dries almost instantly, so you can add washes straight away with no flooding.

Thank you Stephen for the info, I may look into the Pitt pens, not sure if I would get the scratchy marks that I like with a proper pen though.

Nice painting lovely atmospheric painting in your unique style Stephen well done.

Like the spontaneity of this Stephen and the ink pens seem to have worked well, a nice sketch piece .

Many thanks, Fiona, Dennis and Graham, for your kind words. I think you are right Fiona about the line being uniform with these type of pens but you can get a little variety by using the different thicknesses of pens, especially the brush pen which behaves a little like a rigger brush. Especially in the field they are useful, I'm sure I would knock the bottle of ink over!

I thought I would try out a set of Pitt sepia ink pens I bought today, with a quick sketch and added a few washes.
