Lovely painting. Beautifully done as always.

Beautiful sketch, Stephen. I envy any of you being able to sketch outside - I would simply be blown away!!

Many thanks Dawn and Ann for your encouraging comments. It was not so much blown away as chilled to the core Ann. It 's much more fun sketching with a few others, I always think people must think I'm a bit odd when I sketch on my own! mind you perhaps they are right!

Lovely work Stephen, great palette in this one

Really loose and suits your style -

many thanks once again, Ros and Michael.

Lovely loose watercolour Stephen, and great trees! I'm envious.

many thanks Fiona once again for your kind remarks. I do think that sketching outdoors does help us to draw and paint in a freer way. it also opens our eyes to what is around us, I hadn't realised how pleasant it was in the churchyard.

A lovely piece, with superb, clear washes. Beautifully done, Stephen!

many thanks Sepk, once again.

Little gem of a sketch - loose and really zingy.

Many thanks Thea for your encouraging comments.

A lovely little watercolour Stephen, good blending of great colours.

Many thanks once again Carole. I enjoyed sketching with the group.

The art group had a sketching session in Littleborough earlier today, I chose to sketch in the churchyard of the lovely parish church. Enjoyed doing this, then started another but it got a bit chilly and we retired to a nearby cafe!

About the Artist
Stephen Slater

I am a self taught amateur painter, I mostly paint landscapes in watercolour but I 'dabble' in other mediums from time to time. I really enjoy my art, especially painting outdoors when the weather allows.
