Lovely composition Stephen. A little smudgy foreground but that tree on the left is beautifully done.

Nice painting Stephen

Many thanks, Henry and Dennis.

It seems to have come out really well Stephen. Photo is a tad blurred but I love those trees.

There's a certain liveliness and energy in the piece that's very appealing, Stephen.

Nice painting, Stephen, I like the colours in the foreground.

Many thanks Adele Seiok and Ceasare for your thoughtful comments. The lighting was from a desk light positioned near the top of the picture, so the light was stronger at the top than at the bottom, hence it seeming 'smudgy' and 'blurred'.

That seems to have worked Stephen, very nice.

Wet pastels Stephen????? I'm only just managing dry ones.....the rocks and water have come out well.

Many thanks Fiona, it's a bit like gouache I found not as transparent as watercolour.

I thought I would try adding pastel over a loose wet in wet background but found my watercolours were not handy. So I thought I would try lifting pastel off with a wet brush for the wash and then add pastel as normal. don't know about the quality but it was good fun!
