Nice choice of colours, you've got the recession perfectly, and the light too - I hadn't noticed the figures at first, I don't think you need them here if you don't mind me saying.

Many thanks Dennis and Marjorie for your kind words. Whether to add figures or not, that is the question! I mostly do, I think it adds a little interest but in this case Marjorie is probably right, possibly the figures intrude into the feeling of solitude?

Yes I do too Stephen, it adds life and I think in this case particularly. It is a super piece of pastel work.

I always like to see a few figures Stephen and here, it would have worked whether or not you included them. Must be the sign of a good painting! Bags of atmosphere in this one.and I do like the road colour against the sky.

I usually get carried away and forget to add figures until it's too late but it really doesn't matter in this lovely picture - well painted.

Figures or not Stephen still a great pastel.
