Looks good to me - in fact very good - now for the watercolour?

Actually, I thought this was a watercolour to begin with. Seeing that it is oil, I think you have employed a lovely light touch with this painting and I don't see you struggling at all - looks very successful to me.

Many thanks Michael and Thea for your encouraging thoughts.

I don't see any struggle with this Stephen, I love it! Lovely light and great group of figures. Apologies if I've missed any of your postings Stephen.

I've now seen the watercolour, and both have their strengths. However (perhaps because I'm an oil painter by preference) I prefer this version and think I'd have preferred it even more if you'd used somewhat thicker paint, and taken it slowly - adding layers over a week or two. I don't really mean to make this sound like damning with faint praise: I like both versions.

Thanks for your considered comments Robert. Because I have painted much more in watercolour! I tend to rush things when I paint in oils! I might go back to this when in dries and add a bit more strength to it.

Lovely work, Stephen.

Many thanks once again Seok.

From an old photo, not sure where, still struggling with oils, must try it in watercolour.
