Well done, Stephen - bold and atmospheric.

Oh I like this very much, Stephen. I can't do it now but will look through your other work later. The rich colour saturation is lovely, reminds me of late in a summer day (...remember summer?). The dark sides of the stones work well, the rocks look like rocks, the grass looks like grass - really good. Do you like painting in oils, Stephen?

Lovely light on the stones Stephen and good depiction of the rough moorland-ish grasses.

Many thanks everyone for your encouragement.

I agree with everyone as well, super colours and textures in this one Stephen, great to see it in a painting as well

Thanks once again Ros.

I thought I would try an oil for a change, of this lovely spot, from a photo in a guide book. I did visit the site a few years ago on a painting holiday and did a little watercolour, I wonder where that is?

About the Artist
Stephen Slater

I am a self taught amateur painter, I mostly paint landscapes in watercolour but I 'dabble' in other mediums from time to time. I really enjoy my art, especially painting outdoors when the weather allows.
