Wells-next-the-Sea (after Edward Wesson)

I like it, very nice indeed.

Many thanks Heather.

Many thanks Spencer.

Lovely soft colours and shadow work too, the open sky and sea drift into an atmospheric premise for Wells-next- the-sea. Well done!

Wesson was a genius - brave of you to have a go at one of his paintings because they're never as simple as he made them look - are you familiar with the work of Alan Owen? You can find him on Youtube and Patreon - Wesson was his hero, and he enjoys painting in his style: though also paints very much in his own. Well worth a look.

Many thanks Robert, I enjoyed watching Alan Owen’s demos on POL You can see Wesson’s influence in many current watercolourists.

Thought I would have a go at one of E.W’s classics. As usual it looked easy enough but I found it quite tricky!

I am a self taught amateur painter, I mostly paint landscapes in watercolour but I 'dabble' in other mediums from time to time. I really enjoy my art, especially painting outdoors when the weather allows.
