Many thanks Jim and Gudrun, I think Inktense blocks are best used for sketching, gives a similar result to charcoal, very good for tonal work.

It works well Stephen, I don’t use inktense very often but can see from your work the benefit of using them for sketching.

A quick sketch using a grey Inktense block, I added a little water to get a wash effect in places.
