Did you paint this from memory or did you have some pictorial assistance as it reminds me of my childhood

The idea for this painting started as a dream I had a very clear image in my head of the composition. I then searched for reference images, the background after some thought is the school at Beamish open air museum. Thanks for showing an interest. <br /><br />

A lot of work here, certainly evokes memories of the past - I went to a school just like this one.

Just spotted this one, Mark. It is SO reminiscent of my childhood!!! My father used to make us a &#39;Gambo&#39;, as we called it, with a plank of wood, pram wheels, and cord to steer it! We not only had races on them downhill, on the road ( ! ), but also down the MOUNTAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had such great fun before &#39; Health &amp; Safety &#39; !!!<br />It is a terrific painting. Your palette is spot on and the expressions on the boys&#39; faces are great. I love the bobby with his whistle, too! The school is as it was, too. Wonderful painting! Do some more!
