Grandad by ron mote

This is lovely Ron. You have got his expression well. I know it is difficult from a black and white old photo reference because the camera blurs some areas but in line with the rest of your beautiful rendition of grandad, I feel that a clearer definition under the bottom lip would enhance your portrait. I hope you don't mind my saying so. I only say it because I love the painting and want it to be its best - and give grandad justice! Jx

It is a good portrait Ron and your grandfather has a nice face but I agree with Jean about the lower lip definition, it is not as noticeable on higher zoom so it is just definition. Don't be afraid to rework something, I have reworked two paintings recently and reposted them and all the comments have been positive, Acrylic is very forgiving : ) .
