Thank you folks for your kind comments. He still doesn’t look right to me, but I will look on anther day and hopefully see what needs to be done. I think he needs more shoulders or form to the body, regardless of what the reference is telling me.

Pastel and coloured pencil on A3 W&N pastel paper. I started with soft pastels and fixed it. What a disaster that was splodges everywhere. I then added the eyes and spots with coloured pencils as they would not smudge. But I went seriously wrong with the spots and had to rub them out along with the underlying pastel, loosing a lot of the form of the body. Bit of a disaster really. Ref photo from Unsplash.
