Rose, White

Must look at the video come the new morn! In the meantime, I very much like the gauzy effect of this painting, and its superb composition - what really does it for me is the shading of the white flower - none of the ubiquitous Payne's Grey or uncertain purples that I've seen elsewhere. There's always colour in shadow - and it's so easy to forget that.

Another beautiful white rose, Skylar. I already watched your demo and I think it is fabulous to see a painting "growing" step by step. You are "the white rose specialist"!.

A delightful painting. I particularly applaud that wonderful background which brings your rose forward in all its beauty...and the masterly touch of red in the top right corner.

Looked at the video today; very interesting to observe the layered approach, the subtle touches which take you from a fairly crude basic sketch to this beautifully considered image.
