Lovely busy watercolour, well done doing this one actually on the street corner! People stopping and commenting is always a potentially difficult one, looks like you coped brilliantly

I just hate sketching or painting in public - perhaps because I look fairly eccentric myself (!) people WILL stop and stare, and I'm afraid it just drives me to derangement .... on the other hand, I do tend to paint with more energy and conviction when I'm angry, so maybe do more..... Anyway, enough about me - I salute your courage, and admire your painting: I'm less sure about the success of the left-hand corner than the rest of the painting, but it is a sketch not a finished work. It's that patch of slate-blue/green by the red car which somehow strikes a discordant note - but it's blissfully easy to criticize other people....

Super sketch Simon! You've managed to incorporate so much information in what I imagine wasn't much time, which couldn't have been easy.

Well done. I salute your courage to stand in such a busy place.

Thanks for you kind comments. I must admit, I'm not very courageous, I use a little A5 pad (double page for A4) and a pocket watercolour box balanced in my hands so very inconspicuous! Thanks for the critique Robert, now you've pointed that out, it jumps out at me!

Brilliant - love it.

Did this sketch propped up on the street corner. Great fun watching the world go by as I painted! As I'm still very self-conscious when sketching in public, was relieved to realise that most people are too busy with their own lives to stop and look (those that did very kind).
