I do that all the time Shirley, because I’ve either left my sketchbook/paints at home or haven’t the time. I take a photo in my head and I think it helps to break down the scene in to what you actually want to capture in your painting.......leaves all the faffy stuff out. Works for me and going by this painting it works for you also.
