It's really good Shirley and that sunlight reflected back on the grass works a treat

Thanks Heather. Feel a lot happier. Was getting really bogged down.😬😂

Without putting them side by side I must say this is an improvement Shirley…it looks more balanced somehow

Thanks, Alan. I blocked out the foreground with white plus transparent medium, and then re-thought it.

Coral Pastor Caparrós, Thanks for your comment, but I like to play with the paint thickness, if that's any excuse!

The colours compliment each other beautifuly, really like it.

Thank you, Michael, Valerie and Neil, I really appreciate your comments.

Very striking and moody Shirley

Great light and colour and I like how you apply paint Shirley.

I like this one Shirley. The composition, with the loosely painted, textural foreground - and the light, lead the eye up to the focal point of the dramatic, and more sharply defined buildings on the hill.

After Alan Bickley’s kind observations yesterday, I’ve searched in my brain for a better sense of what I remember about this scene. I feel much happier with it now, and would appreciate any other thoughts. I try to catch the sense of what I see, and I get tripped up as I’m learning about the acrylics, and the colours and tones and marks.
