That's an absolutely fantastic painting of my favourite class of diesel locomotive. When I was a kid in the mid 70s I used to go to Kings' Cross just to look at Deltics - they were int he unlovely British Rail intercity blue and yellow livery by then.

Watercolour painting showing D9017 (550017) 'The Durham Light Infantry' in charge of the 'White Rose'Yorkshire Pullman, rounding the corner at Worsley Junction, south of Leeds. Circa 1965. At this time the Deltic class were the most powerfull single unit diesel locomotive in the world.The class were powered by 2 Napier marine engines providing 3,300 horsepower. 22 engines were built, 6 members of the class survive today in preservation.
