Stunning- wonderful depth.

Monochrome paintings are one of my favourites. This is just gorgeous!!! Can I ask: how did you get the dark edges around the "leaves"? Is it pen and ink or a fine line in watercolour. You had that in "Blossom" too. I think it is marvellous!!! Did you see on the webs home page or the gallery home page the item "Interviews with gallery artists"? I entered that and filled in the form. I find it very interesting to learn about our fellow members: who they are, where they live, how they look (you can add a photo). In the Blog-section it is difficult to find a certain person because they sometimes use a nickname. What do you think about that?

hello mia, thanks for your comment, i wet each leaf or segment one at a time . i wait until the shine has gone then wet it again , once more wait for the shine to go, you need to be very patient! ( i find by doing it twice the paper is satturated and you have far greater control over the paint) then you can start adding paint . i try to use pure colour and let them mix on the paper.i think the edge is because a settlement of paint occurs where it touches the dry paper . it is all watercolour no pen or ink anywhere . i will look at adding some info on the 'interview with artists'. i have read yours and agree it is interesting to find a face behind the name .hope we can keep in touch

Expertly painted, beautiful colour. You have managed to achieve that white bloom this plant seems to have.

just fantastic. i learnt a lot too from the exchange of correspondence on this page. Best wishes for the future. i just love your painting style and dedication.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my gallery. I'm not really a flower painter but seem to be doing more these days.
