This works very well with the house in sharp relief and then the hazy foliage around it. Do you take many workshops - I presume you are an art teacher?

I started painting when I retired 10 years ago and got the bug. I teach an Art Group one morning a week and do workshops for other Art Groups when asked..

I see you've used salt in this painting; I do that sometimes, with VERY mixed results - tried it the other day and it sort of worked, but took a day and age to dry; I wonder if I used too much, if the paint was just too wet to start with, or if I'm using the wrong salt (fine sea salt, in this case). I admire your bright, clean washes - (with which I also have trouble....)

I use lots of water but quite strong paint. Rock salt is also good whilst table salt gives a totally different effect. If it is too dry I add water with a water spray. I like it as you never know what you are goi8ng to get

Beautiful collection of postings Sheila, and of varied subjects all done to an exceptional standard.
