Thank you all for your knd comments, after viewing the photographic references taken during my trip around the market this trader had such a soulful look in his eyes I felt compelled to paint him!

Good News!! Delighted to have this painting selected for the TALP 2021 Open Exhibition at Patchings Art Centre from August 21st to September 26th 2021. 24" x 30" Oil on Linen Canvas. I was lucky enough to have a guided tour around a Sri Lankan Market (pre the COVID situation) and managed some quick photographic reference shots which this portrait was based upon. The people were so obliging, friendly and acepting to have their photographs taken, which was a real bonus.
