look like a nice place to vist...............lovely watercolour

Another lovely watercolour Seok, thanks for sharing your personal story too.

What fitting and beautiful testimonial this painting is to the people and place where you studied Seok. Beautiful light enhanced by the darkness of the tree in the top right corner.

Beautiful watercolour and really lovely entrance of your old college

Lovely story, Seok, and I can now see where you get your brave travel lust from! Super painting done with all the skills you have in abundance - lovely trees, perfect people and just a great snapshot from your life.

What a fine and beautiful watercolour Seok! The story also is lovely and a tribute to your life and your professors in that gorgeous building. Super work!

Very interesting story and a painting of your usual standard (That is to say - faultless) :)

beautiful watercolour Seok, love the use of strong darks to set off the light areas

Beautiful once again Seok

Courage rising - great title and a great painting, I envy you your professors Seok!

Super watercolour Seok, green's to die for and thank you for sharing a segement of your life. That's courage!

The story is really nice. I feel like I can see your history. Lovely watercolour, Seok.

Your excellent painting is indeed a lovely tribute to your professors.

You have such an eye for composition and colour Seok. Lovely watercolour and history

I like how you have captured the sense of youngness and life in this, the figures are really good :-)

A wonderful dedication Seok. Such gorgeous colours and the greenery is always great!

Thanks so very much, everyone! Thea, you are spot on - the college is known for its academic travel. Each semester, we would be required to select a destination, depending on our choice of classes taken, and the college would take us on a 2 week tour during which they would organize meetings for the students with political, literary and artistic personalities in the travel destination. After returning, we would be required to turn in a term paper based on the information gathered during our academic travel. It's where my travel bug came from!

I wish I had been in that kind of college. Sounds wonderful!

Hi Seok, great inspiration leads to great work. Alway remember reading a book called "The Elephant and the Twig" by Goeff Thompson, he spook of the same thing. Some times you go astray, but it nice when your on track, especially when it's flowing well. Looks to me that you are on track. Nice one.

Another great composition and wonderful colour.I remember my first visit to Lugano in 1959. I had been in Venice for a week that cost £40 then went on to lugano and it cost me £7.10s!

You have obviously had a wonderful, inspirational education Seok which your paintings are testament too. Another really lovely painting.

A lovely painting and sentiment Seok. I especially like the touch of red.

Thanks so very much, Satu, Peter, Fred, Gudrun, Christine and Denise!

Seok, I really like this too, again I really like the tonal values and also use of wet-in-wet. Thanks very much for looking at the pictures in my gallery last week, I'm glad you liked them. I really like your gallery too, you have done so many interesting and different paintings. Look forward to seeing more! Regards, Heather.

Wonderful painting Seok. Thanks you for commenting so diligently on my work - I really appreciate it from such a talented artist as yourself!

This is the entrance to my old college, Franklin College Switzerland, when it was still at its via Tesserete location in Lugano many years back. We had the most amazing professors there. They taught me to believe that I could do anything I put my mind to, and to think out of the box. I named the painting "Courage Rising" because my time there sowed in me the first seeds of courage to step out of my comfort zone. This painting is dedicated to my Franklin professors and friends who made my experience there so special.
