What a lovely painting- the coloured glass in the window beautiful detail, to the rich coloured roof - yet another great addition to your travelogue gallery

Another, fresh, bright reminder of your time in Cuba, well done Seok.

Beautiful colours. Fascinating architecture......

A lovely detailed piece - I love the colours again. Detailed but simple (if that's possible). Stunning.

A really fresh watercolour Seok Yam , like the architectural detail you have incorperated into this piece along with the tones and colours you have used , and well done for painting it plein air, not always easiest way to paint, but the best if you have the weather !!.well done .

I don't think I've ever since this particular colour before. Did you mix it yourself Seok, or is it ready-made? Lovely vibrant image.

Great mouth-watering colour, interesting painting too.

Another beautiful souvenir of your stay in Cuba, Seok. Painting en plain air is something I admire very much but my pen and wash technique makes it difficult (maybe this is just an excuse).

Great colour, love the mysterious figure in the window!

Another great watercolour to add to your Travelogue series Seok. Marvellous colour and detail and thank you for the interesting history behind the building.

Wow - that's so colourful! as Val said it's really interesting to hear the history behind the painting too, thanks Seok [ and thanks for your comments on my latest as well]

Excellent watercolour Seok, I love the composition and colours

Thank you so much, everyone! Kim, I used predominantly Aureolin with a touch of cobalt turquiose light (both Holbein) and lasur orange (Schmincke). I was hoping for some variation of shade, but unfortunately green is always my downfall. Everything became a monotone! Not the smartest thing to do - painting a green building!

Coupled with your narrative this superb study makes such an interesting posting Seok

Thank you so very much, Michael!

Lovely work Seok , I love the purple in the stained glass window .

Thank you very much, Denise!

I seem to have missed so many of your paintings Seok so I'll go now and have a good look at them all. I like the anusual shade of yellow here and the figure behind the shutters.

Thank you very much Satu!

Window of a restored building in Plaza Vieja, Havana, Cuba. Plaza Vieja was one of the squares in Old Havana set up during Spanish rule in Cuba. The houses on the square were once occupied by the wealthy citizens of Havana, but when they moved out to avoid overcrowding in the city, the buildings fell into disrepair and were occupied by people who could not afford to restore them. This particular two-storey building was once occupied by as many as 140 people comprising 10 families. When the Cuban government finally restored it, many of the people living in there were relocated. Painted en plein air.
