This is beautiful Seok Yam. It looks really 'alive' , my witch hazel is in flower at the moment in my garden and has the same effect of fragile beauty and the first breath of Spring. Thank you for all your lovely observations on my work.

This is absolutely wonderful. I don't know how you can get such fine detail in pastel. It should be in a book.

Thank you so very much for your kind comments, everyone - they are much appreciated! Diana, for the fine details, I used pastel pencils. I started off by including all the details in pastel pencils, then used pastels to finish off and accent of the petals and the branches. I hope it helps.

Thank you Seok for the comments on my pencil Christmas cake. I haven't been painting at all so this was a one off but it did make me come and look at your gallery again and I'd missed this utterly stunning picture. The flowers are so delicate hey look as if a puff of wind would blow them off. I would love to be able to get that delicacy in pastel.
