Elara visits Rome by David Cotton
She paused for a moment near a table, letting her eyes take it all in—the vibrant terracotta buildings glowing in the late afternoon light, the chatter of excited tourists, and rising grandly into the brilliant twilight sky, was the Coliseum. Seeing it in person took her breath away. It was exactly the spark of inspiration she had been searching for. Clutching her hat against a sudden gust of wind, Elara smiled and took a step forward, she was ready to immerse herself in the history of the ancient city.
