I love that - it has a feeling o Lowrey about it!

Like this David, very Lowry.

Fascinating idea and a fun drawing David.

Thank you David, Stephen and Tessa, if only I was as talented as Lowry

Lovely bit of history. I believe my family were close related to the area travelling and moving from Woolwich works to the Ford dagenham factory.

Definitely can see the influence - a good sketch David

The Woolston Floating Bridge was a cable ferry that crossed the River Itchen in England between hards at Woolston and Southampton from 23 November 1836 until 11 June 1977. It was taken out of service after the new Itchen Bridge was opened. This very quick sketch was inspired by a painting by Lowry. Lowry first visited Southampton in 1954 staying with Friends at Bitterne and taking the chain ferry or floating bridge across the Itchen.
