Free and expressive...Looks like your last minute change of heart worked! I like it. PS; Lay off the chocolate for two hours before painting!!

I love the colours in this Satu and there is lots of movement in the surrounding grasses.

I just think this is gorgeous. It's difficult for me to explain really. It's the shapes, the colour and the wispyness ....

Ah, choc..... it can lead you sadly astray..... But I do like your painting. Jaffa cakes are my weakness -

I like this very much Satu, it is so expressive and the texture of the cottongrass blowing in the wind is lovely. Thanks for your comment on my iPad painting, I have posted a reply on it. I challenge you to interpret this painting on your iPad I think it would work very well.

A great idea, I could see it was cottongrass without looking at the title! Good marks in the background.

Thank you very much Ruth, Fiona, Gudrun, Robert, Christine and Carole for your lovely comments! Christine, I have taken up your challenge and will post the effort soon. Robert, I do like Jaffa cakes too!

Wonderful colours and textures, Satu. This really works and is an eye catching painting. I know what you mean about the break over Christmas. I am trying to kick myself into action as well!

A lovely start to the year. Wonderful composition and palette in true Satu style! Well done - I've gone into hibernation!

Thank you Thea and Avril and pick up your brushes!

You certainly started the year with a bang, Satu! This is stunning! So full of movement, with wonderful textures and a lovely palette.

Ros P here Satu just seen your commical comment on my latest pastel dog portrait, the dog desperately wanting it's ball thrown again, thanks so much for that and I did read Robert's comment again and imagined it was from you, as you suggested!

Thank you Satu, I love your abstracts and commend your innovative approach to a lavender field - very original treatment of a classical subject.

Thank you so much Seok, Ros and ArtKatSurrey for your kind comments!

Love it! The movement created by your diagonal marks are terrific, Satu. I envy your use of Palette Knife too!

I just noticed this painting when looking at the most recently posted one. Sorry I missed this when it was originally posted (at a very difficult time in my life). However, I have seen it now, and have today it is,overly Satu.

Thank you Julie so much, I was so surprised to have a comment for something I did years ago but so kind of you. Thank you.

First painting this year! I hadn't done anything for a month and it was quite difficult to get going again ( must have been all the chocolate I ate before, during and after Xmas!). The idea was to do some tulips again but the colours were wrong and the shape of the flowers went wrong also so at the end I changed them into cottongrass and it looks a bit better. Acrylic on canvas with palette knife 50cm x 50cm.
