Sarah, this is just beautiful. I love its abstract quality, the CONTROL you have of your toned-down values, the offsetting the purple and pink with the brown, greyed-down olive and off white for balance, so painting isn't "sweet." The painting has a meditative, calming effect.

A study for a larger painting. Oil on wood panel 6x6in. Created as a response to a view of my garden in the spring. I have significantly altered the subject so that it has become part reality, part imaginative. Also, by simplifying the forms it has become partially abstracted.
