This is lovely Ruth. Well done.

Never worked on velour. This looks good. See my blog Beaks on Chicks... Could have used this for "Tails on Ducks" They are great.

Well done Ruth - good start. You've got some lovely colours here and they've got the cutest faces!

Lovely study, with clear and pretty colours. So much character in the faces of the ducks. Well done and a good start with pastels, Ruth.

You really do come up with something totally different each time - these are great; long-tailed ducks - also known as pintail ducks? I shall have to look at my bird book. Why not dip the sticks in your coffee, by the way - just don't drink the coffee - anything for a new effect! Seriously, beautifully sharp lines on this, calligraphic effects and soft blending. VERY well done.

Lovely ducks - I love the pose and the feeling that they are sitting in (rather than on) the water - if your like pasinint in pastels have you seen the "The pastel Scribbler" on on-line pastel journal? The group are trying to raise the profile of pastel in Europe as it is rather under valued as a medium unlike the states where they rate it. Hope you go on and try more - you have the touch for pastel

Thank you all for looking and commenting. Suki..... I have looked at the PGE.....very interesting, thanks for the information, will have a good look at the site.

This can't be your first go at pastel surely?! I think you're telling porkies LOL This is lovely and the expressions on their faces are priceless.

OK Val..Oink oink! .I admit, it's actually my second try! My first was the apples on a plate.... in my gallery. I'm delighted by your comment, very encouraging....thank you so much! I would love to try more pastels in the future.
