This sketch has a vitality of it's own, although I look forward to seeing the painting, and I like to see drawings in the gallery. I think the reflections work very well. Lovely work, and I especially like the whiskers!

Love to see this painted do you paint stripes first?

Thank you Lesley and Linda. I shall probably underpaint the stripes and the light parts first, then undercoat for the water and so on, trying to bring it on a little at a time all across the painting. I'm very nervous about starting the actual painting though, exept that with acrylics you can rework it for ever and a day if you are struggling!

I know how you feel - when you're happy with a sketch (such as this lovely one), it gets scarey to start a painting. Maybe that's why my 'Jean's Garden' didn't get any further. (Thanks for your comments). I look forward to seeing your painting.

Thanks, Lynda, I do agree. Hope I can have a go at it, there's so much super work on this site it is hard to live up to!!!! Very stretching...but I suppose that's a good thing?

Ruth, its such a great drawing i think I would practise reflections on scrap wc paper first and take my time, look forward to seeing it complete

Nice image Ruth...It's allways good to push yourself...I look forward to seeing it finished..Steve.

I didn't know that tigers could swim? Thought cats, even big ones, hated water - so I have learned something today, Ruth. This is a lovely dynamic drawing and as other said shall wait in anticipation to see the painted version. Good luck with it!

A fantastic drawing, in itself. Look forward to seeing it in colour.

What a great drawing Ruth, I missed this the other day. You will enjoy painting this.

Just new on site Ruth, love your animal sketches you capture the eyes so well makes them look alive. broused through site yesterday ; must have missed yours. Tiger caught my eye today though, he's great. I'd love him in charcoal.

First sketch for an acrylic painting hopefully soon, but don't know whether I shall be able to paint all those stripes, also I have trouble with reflections in water.
