I think you have made a great job of his fur, masking fluid can look so false at times. Can't wait to see him with his full facial hair.

So sorry, I preferred the fur as it was. I agree with not doing a back wash.

He's looking really good Ruth. If I were you, I wouldn't fiddle too much more - he looks great to me. Just his black whiskers. Definitely no back wash otherwise he will be much too overworked and stay away from the masking fluid. Well done.

Thank you Val, Diana and Julia, for your comments. I'll see how it goes when I finish the whiskers. This was intended as a trial, and there are a number of things I would do differently when / if I try another version. On the back of him is a botched autumn leaves painting, destined for the bin,which I grabbed just to make the initial sketch...I keep doing this, and it's silly, especially if your painting starts to work!

Still waiting for his black whiskers. I found the spiky coat quite difficult to do...perhaps will try again, using masking techniques, also have not planned a backwash, which would have accentuated the edges of his coat which is very 'white whiskery.'
