This is much better balanced now Ruth - really zingy! Certainly brightened up my day. Some really nice delicate touches - well done.

Thank you, Julia. I might just join 'THE CHALLENGE' and see what I can do with my white cottage plus black shutters....see Thea's comment on hers.....

Lovely composition and colours and well done for not using masking fluid. I sometimes use it but ,to me, it always seems too false, not natural enough. If I try and do with out it I always manage to paint a bit of the paper I wanted to leave white though LOL

Lovely combination of colours and delicate touch.

Ruth - had a look at your gallery and you have great variety and style. Love the colours and vibrancy is this one and also loved the portfolio of watercolour landscapes. Thanks for the comment on Mullaghmore, wish I could get away from those misty scenes so am determined to try different style now and am off there again later in week as the weather forecast is good and i want to see the castle in sunshine for once ! The forum is good and I find it useful, there are a few very experienced users and I also dont feel confidant to contribute too much but think that if using the gallery etc and it nice to make an effort in the forum too. Sometimes I dont get time and the forum can be time consuming but please use it as the more the merrier :)

Had a happy time with colour here. I debated whether or not to use masking fluid for the delicate stamens, but decided aagainst it.
