Gosh, thank you all for your very kind and generous comments, if you are interested, the original photo reference can be seen at http://archerart.co.uk/pictures/displayimage.php?album=10&pid=65#top_display_media. You will see that I have altered the bridle, head angle and given her a listening ear. Her eye is also exaggerated, as I love her eyes. Ruth - carrots, apples, mints (all kinds), even the occasional ham sandwich (rather disturbing...) when she manages to escape and go on the lunchbox rob. She's quite a character! You've really spurred me on (I know, I know, enough already with the puns) to make the effort to paint more - thank you all.
