A gum by Ron , there could a saying in there I think one of the saying my grandfather often used “by gum Ron that’s a grand painting lad , thas done a cracking job on it”.

Excellent likeness of a gum tree especially the trunk when the bark starts to peel off. I have seen many of these on my visits to Australia.

Oil on panel, 12x16in. Plein Air sketch of some local ghost gums. It's incredible the way the bark just peels away leaving a myriad of colours in the trunk and branches. Reckon there should have been a rope swing on this one.
