Leaving St Kilda
Oil on panel, 60x28cm. Recently I have been trying to put together some ideas for an upcoming art group exhibition entitled "New Beginnings". The evacuation of the remaining 37 people from St. Kilda, in 1930, seemed very appropriate. Not sure if the scale allowed for the boats, but it's more symbolic. I wanted to capture the skyline and a sense of mood as it would be the lasting memory for some.
