My very dear friend Alan and I, taught at the same school in London before he eventually went to Hong Kong and we moved to Bristol. Each summer he returned and stayed with us bringing presents back for our boys and clothing for Basia. In return, I gave him art work. One year, he brought a photo of his Chinese lover, Andy, and asked if I could use it in a painting for him. This was the result. Following Alan's premature demise, not from aids, the painting and others were lost. They had no value other than gifts given in friendship but I wonder what became of them.
