I've painted only four self portraits..four was enough but it always surprised me how the sense of 'self'' evaporated into an exercise of looking simply at flesh and form..it could have been just another sitter. Even now, it remains somebody else. Better views large Oil on canvas 45cmx32cm and not recent!
