I imagine that it was a long conversation :-) It's a fascinating image - the narrative options are multiple, and the detail inviting - but poorly served by the size I am viewing it at. I can't help wondering why he's wearing odd socks, too, and if that's what they are talking about!

I think this is great Roger and the fact that you've painted it from life even more so.The perspective must have been quite a challenge but it looks right-painting of the figures superb but I also wondered about the odd socks!!

As always, great painting. I thought this was excellent the first time around. Never mind the technological blip. It's nice to be reminded of this.

I think that Basia is saying "I'll just pop upstairs and get that other sock (shoe?) for you. When your mind is on painting everything else goes out of the window!" How's that for highbrow? Anyway, as usual, the painting is amazing. Your latest one, too, is incredible. How long would it take to complete these Roger?

I paint from life, something that's been said before, but it's important to the way that I work...without the misery of starting, the endless hours of struggle simply to 'see' and capture....what would be the point? This was uploaded last year, before I lost the entire gallery through no fault of my own.....honest! 1m X 50cm
