Physalis Studies...not mine

Beautiful studies. The lighting is hugely effective in my opinion.

This is beautiful, I love studies like these.

Though I admire botanical work and can always see the work that has gone into them they tend to leave me cold. This is a botanical study beautifully observed and very beautifully drawn...it certainly does not leave me cold.

Beautifully drawn and beautifully painted.

Super studies Roger, you have managed to draw those delicate leaves really beautifully!

These studies are very good.

Sorry that should have been wonderful. I pressed reply before I had finished. You're right studies are sometimes more interesting and I for one never put drawings on this site and until now I've never been tempted.

Thank you for last night's comments..am always surprised and grateful for time taken to do so...am behind with catching up with your works but will over next days. Yet another study by Basia for the OCA. For some of us, observational drawing does not come naturally and can be daunting and very hard work. In time, and if we are lucky, something clicks and past hours of frustration and disappointment result in something more positive and rewarding. It's a pity that there are so few studies posted. Don't you think that they are often more revealing and energetic than 'finished' works?I think better viewed large.
