Ox-Eye Daisies, Bamburgh

12" x 16" plein-air pastel on brown Murano paper. Yesterday was my chance to break out and paint outdoors on the Northumberland coast for the first time in months. These daisies in the foreground of Budle Bay and Lindisfarne Castle were irresistible. The second painting was done just a few yards from the first. In both cases, I've included less rock than the reality and placed distant elements to suit my painting. What a beautiful day!
