I like the road leading into the composition Roger, something I try and do when possible. Also your loose interpretation on the tree, not overworked, I like that. I do think that the road is a bit too same grey, sounds silly, but I would introduce some of the pinks from the super row of houses. Hockney uses pinks and violets in his roads and they work. Check out his ‘Bigger Picture’ paintings and see what you think. Probably not quite as bold as his roads. Nicely painted anyway, good style!

Great composition and I like the way the path leads the eyes.

16" x 20" oil on canvas. This time last week I still had a small exhibition planned in Rothbury in June. In the great scheme of things, the cancellation is trivial. I only mention it to explain why I repeated the subject immediately. I have my own views on the relative merits of these two oils; I'd be interested to read what anyone else thinks.
